Dr Richard Fisher qualified in his home city of Edinburgh in 1981 and achieved DGDP with the faculty of general dental practitioners of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1996. He has an ongoing clinical attachment with the Orthodontic department at York hospital. He held the post of president of York Dental Society between 2007-08.

Richard is married with one teenage daughter. He relaxes by walking his black Labrador dog ‘Angus’ and is a keen skier and windsurfer. He has a subaqua diving qualification and is a member of a local water-ski and wakeboard club, which he participates regularly with his daughter.


Dr Zareen Ashraff qualified in 1996 at Leeds and has a particular interest in Endodontics (root canal treatments).

Zareen makes the most of her leisure time, enjoying running, tap dancing, yoga and fitness training. She has taken part in several races to raise money for charities, such as The Great North Run for Asthma U.K. and Castle Howard 10k for Cancer Research. She also likes taking active holidays snowboarding in winter and mountain biking in summer. She loves listening to music, especially guitar based rock, plays piano and drums and enjoys the cinema.


Dr Annette Wiltshire qualified in 1999 at Newcastle and is currently a clinical assistant in Orthodontics at York Hospital.

Her interest in orthodontics means that she also undertakes orthodontic treatment as part of her daily general dental practice. Annette enjoys hill walking and mountaineering, particularly in the lake district with her husband. She completed a difficult 6 day trek, during which Annette battled altitude sickness in the latter stages to successfully climb Mt Kilimanjaro in 2005  and recently enjoyed a variety of adventure sports in New Zealand.


Dr Karen Darby.

We are pleased to announce that Karen Darby will be joining us in September as our replacement for James Robson.

Karen won the prize for clinical excellence at Birmingham University and has completed the first part of the MJDF postgraduate examination. She has in interest in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry and describes her patient empathy as being a key personal strength.

She enjoys pilates and swimming in her spare time, and is keen to complete a half marathon later this year.
